MAJURO, MARSHALL ISLANDS: The Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Karin Liu as the new Audit Supervisor for the Performance Audit Division. Ms. Liu joined OAG team on April 27, 2026. She brings a robust background in international administration, program coordination, and operational management to the OAG team.

Ms. Liu holds a Master of International Business Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy. Prior to joining the OAG, she served as a Senior Programme Assistant with the International Organization for Migration (IOM). During her tenure at the IOM, she gained extensive experience in drafting reports, coordinating logistics, providing technical support, and managing project implementations. Notably, she played a key role in supporting the development of the RMI National Migration Policy and Resilience Project, ensuring complex project milestones remained on track under pressure.

In her new supervisory role, Ms. Liu will leverage her expertise in research, data analysis, and organization to support the high standards of the Office. Her division plays a vital role in government oversight by utilizing performance auditing to assess whether public programs and operations are running efficiently, ultimately strengthening transparency, accountability, and public trust.

“I am honored to join the OAG and support its important mission of strengthening accountability in the RMI,” said Ms. Liu. “I’m especially excited for the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work, continue growing professionally, and learn alongside such a dedicated and experienced team”

Ms. Liu’s immediate priorities include mastering the OAG’s specialized audit methodologies, building strong collaborative relationships, and optimizing division workflows. Guided by a personal philosophy of professionalism, adaptibility, and continuous learning, she is also keen to explore digital tools and database analysis to drive innovation within the performance audit process.

The OAG extends a warm welcome to Ms. Liu, whose dedication and expertise will undoubtedly make a significant impact on the division and the wider Marshall Islands public sector.
